The Mining Park of Almadén received this week the 100,000th visitor

The Mining Park of Almadén received the 100,000 visitors this week, after more than three years since its opening. It was on the occasion of the feast of the Virgin of the Mine (September 8), 2006, when in the open days, there were almost 3000 visits into the mine, in just two weeks. From that date, began regular visits, even though the works of the outer buildings not completed until January 2008, date that officially opened The Mining Park of Almadén.

The Mining Park of Almadén has become, at this time, in a cultural and tourism of the province and of Castilla-La Mancha, also endorsed last year in July 2012 with its inclusion in the list of World Heritage of UNESCO.

The visitor profile has been varied, with 71% of individual visitors many families, 15% of school groups and 14% of associations, usually cultural.

By origin, the community that has visited the Park has been Castilla-La Mancha, with 50%, followed by Madrid with 18% and 16% Andalucia.

By provinces the list begins Ciudad Real with 30% of visitors, followed by Madrid with 18%, Córdoba with about 12% and Barcelona at 5%. Visitors from other countries have not reached 1%
