The Mining Park of Almaden took part in the meeting Industrial Heritage of Spain, Andorra, Italy and Portugal held in the Museum of Science and Technology in Catalonia.

About forty representatives from different institutions, museums and associations closely connected with the Industrial Heritage of all Spain, Andorra, Italy and Portugal gathered yesterday, Tuesday, in the National Museum of Science and Technology of Catalonia (mNACTEC), in order to increase the presence of museums and interpretation centers of Industrial Heritage in the European Route of Industrial Heritage (ERIH) and to lay the groundwork to create different European Regional Routes.

Those attending this international meeting were greeted in the morning, at the Palau Moja in Barcelona, by Jusep Boya, General Director of Archives, Libraries, Museums and Heritage of Cataluña. Later, they were displaced to Tarrasa, to mNACTEC, where different working sessions were held, which were attended by Massimo Preite, the European representative.

Currently, the Mining Park of Almaden, (together with the Agbar Water Museum of Cornella de Llobregat and mNACTEC) is one of the three anchor unique point in Spain about this important route of promotion, valorization and dissemination of highlights European Industrial Heritage.

Experts who attended this meeting agreed on the need of coordinated internationally about defense and safeguarding of Industrial Heritage and to inform the various public authorities the social value of this contemporary heritage. Representatives of Cataluña, Andalucía, Asturias, Castilla-León, Castilla-La Mancha, Euskadi, Madrid, Murcia, Aragón, Andorra, Italy and Portugal, among others attended, too.
Finally, they emplaced to make a new coordination meeting.
